aboutME

I've spent almost 30 years helping people overcome pain, stay active and maintain independence.  I work in Fordingbridge helping mainly the over 50's stay strong and active as they get older.

This is how I got here....

My Approach

My approach has change a lot over the years,  from simply searching for a diagnosis and treating a body part, to now understanding that every person has different goals, concerns, lifestyles and motivations and that good physiotherapy should always recognise that.  This means that my assessment and treatment can be perfectly tailored to every individual.

"I'm not treating a bad back or a painful knee - I'm treating a person who happens to have that problem."

I am lucky enough to have had some great teachers and mentors along the way, and have been able to develop both my rehabilitation skills as well as good 'hands-on' treatment techniques.  This combination allows me to give my patients the best possible care.

Working with active adults over 50

Now in my mid 50's, I increasingly understand the challenges that many of my patients experience.  Speed of recovery changes, stiffness appears and staying active takes more thought.

I also see every day in my clinic that improvement is possible well into later life.  Some of my most rewarding work is helping people in their 70s and 80s become stronger and more confident again.

"Getting older doesn't automatically mean things have to get worse...."
